This spring, we hosted the Va Bene Film Challenge for a third time, and are excited to screen select films at the Astra Theatre! Alongside the films, the event will also feature a keynote speaker and a Q&A with student filmmakers.

2024 Va Bene Challenge Screening

In May 2024, Va Bene hosted their second annual Short Film Challenge. They

received submissions from 4 participating schools. The top films were screened. It

was a free event held at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center. It was a sold out event

and each team was invited to participate in an onstage Q&A.

For the second annual Film Challenge. we invited filmmaker, Josh Riedford, to

speak on his time working in the industry and give advice to the young

filmmakers on what it means to follow your passions.
